Deadlift ("Clean-style")
http://media.staleytraining.com/keats_305dl.MPG
This is a nice, fairly easy 305 deadlift from keats, using lifting shoes and a hook grip. Notice that the low back stays locked in throughout, even though this is nearly twice bodyweight for Keats.

Do you have to have a validated copy of Windows Media Player??? I can't access it without having to buy a new program...

Charles,
I've been deadlifting with straps to aid my grip. Using them I can get to 2.0x bodyweight. What do I need to do to build up the grip strength to pull it off without straps?

Great lift Keats,
Dumping the weight as you do after the lift in the vid, could this cause a shock load to the back ? Somthing l would be shy of doing.

Honestly, although I could give you some obscure East-German grip strengening exercise involving fingerless gloves and a bar of soap, the best way is to just deadlift w/o straps, preferrably using a hook grip.
Alex Lee, a team-mate of mine, had to use straps on his snatches for about 3 weeks due to a hand injury. Once he want back to the hook grip, his 1RM went down by about 15%. After another 3 weeks and it came back though. This story is strong evidence for the specificity principle as it relates to grip strength.
