Great articles Phil; as they always are. That one about the skinny guy who wanted a 6 pack was me when I was about 18. Most people don't actually think of their abs as a muscle; apparently. To try and make them as small as humanly possible and then to expect them to look muscular would be like doing curls and trying to make your biceps as small as you could so your arms look muscalar. As you know; you need to build strong abs and keep the lard off of them.

And that was a great answer also to the guy who was worried about how much the other guys in the gym were lifting. I would add to it two things. One that lifting is progressive. What he sees them lifting now is not what they were lifting when they started. And two; watch their form. If their lifting alot with poor form; maybe their not as strong as you think they are.

Hey Bud thanks for the reply. sorry I missed this somehow. Thanks for the great feedback and additions.

I will add also you are the only measuring stick that matters when it comes to your present state and your progress. If you continually get better then you and thats your concentration those other people dont matter. If your wasting time thinking about others your not giving you the due attention to progress.

you also have no idea how long it took that person to get to where they are. they could possibly have been a 5 year gym rat that didnt change and then got serious and took another 5-10 years to get to where they are standing.
and then comes along a under 2 year lifter that thought they should be doing the same things.
