Default Christopher Drummond - Daily Training Log

Hello everyone!! I'm going to get my Training log started by posting the training I did on Saturday. I train mondays, wendsday and saturdays. Monday is my Max Effort bench day, Wendsday is my Max Effort deadlift day, and saturday is my Max Effort squat day. I'm training for three competitions, the first of which is about a 5 weeks away.

Feel free to shoot me any questions about my training or other questions you may have. you can also check out my youtube videos. I usually videotape my PR attempts.


ME squat-was psyched to go in and break my front squat record. i was planning on doing some full squats afterwards but my lower back felt like piano wire after the fronts.. so no dice on the full rom. but i did blow my front squat PR out of the water.

very happy with the front squat. i won't go that heavy again for awhile. i wish i had a monolift. once i stepped out with it, i couldn't get any air in. i had to take little sips.

ME bench- tonight was a good night... i felt strong and actually had some left in the tank to bust out a set of 40 reps with 225 on the bench. check out the video.

You may be getting stronger but you sure aint getting any cuter as was very evident by the close up :) LOL

Nice work.

I also edited your post so the video was right there on the screen. Il go ahead and tel you how to do that here so other people might benefit as well I just found out today when your posting just above the type window there is a button that says youtube. you can add one video per post to it.

ME deadlift-tonight had it's high points and low points. I pulled 700 but i lost it at lockout. i was so psyched to pull it that i didn't really set my grip. I'll definitely get it next time. I missed 385 on seated military presses so i did a punishment set of 315 for 7. then i did my biannual set of curls. my training partner must have taken his finger off the button at rep 12 because now i have two videos of it. I was asking myself why i went to the trouble to post two videos of a measly set of curls.. twice.

all in all it was a growing session. i just need to take my time on the big lifts and do everything right. I also noticed that i jerked the bar some on my dead. i need to stop that if i want to keep my biceps attached to my arms.

ME squat- i have to help my sister and brother in law move tomorrow so i had to train the squat tonight. This was my first session doing a heavy weight in the back squat. I videoed the last set from the front. It looks high from that angle and probably is a little. I will work on getting more depth over the next couple of weeks. the adductor doesn't hurt but is REALLY tight still. It's almost like having a squat suit on:)

i'm very happy with the way things went tonight. I'm a bit superstitious when i train. Two months ago I had to go out of town on saturday and had to train on Friday instead. That was the night that i tore the adductor. So all day today I was thinking about that. I always train squats on saturday. Luckily everything went well.

Time to work on depth and bring everything together.
